TimeDock.. discontinued

While TimeDock has been a huge success (number one in so many countries when released) I decided to release it as free when its sales curve had dropped right off and a few months had gone by.  For the last half a year it was on the AppStore for free, but with Apple requiring a membership fee to keep it listed on the store I decided to let it rest. There are (since then) vast amounts of clock Apps being released, so it’s now a “collectors item” for those that purchased it.

While it’s still listed on the Appstore, it’s actually no longer available for download, but it will remain available forever for those that have it now.  The website is still maintained for now (mainly because I like it ! )

Number one!

Well what can I say ?  This was just phenominal news, and has left me beaming with joy.  TimeDock has hit number one in numerous territories, but this is the one I really wanted to crack – Great Britain.

It’s pretty interesting how the US market was pretty much impenetrable to developers outside the US unless you get extraordinarily lucky (and I mean lucky).  There’s such a large amount more Apps being released to the US market that the rest of the world doesn’t have access to, that being noticed on the first week of release is do-or-die time.  Essentially, if you’re not in the top 50 by day 3,  your app is dead in the water.

Sweden, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Holland and Japan…  I love you all !

Beer hurt head

Ahh, been suffering a very well deserved hangover today, but I regret nothing !

It’s now been three days since the approval and release of my two apps on the apple iPhone and I’m absolutely over the moon to see them actually climbing the charts !    I caught a japanese article about TimeDock earlier today (here)  and am completely stoked!  I love seeing their custom background too.. I was really hoping some people would enjoy that part of it.

9aPandora is doing very well also, which is a relief and I’ve got to be honest; no small suprise!  There’s a phenominal amount of games out there (in the thousands) so I assumed it would just get lost in the mass.    Happy Rico today then, despite the thumping headache :D

New personal projects

What’s these here images linking to in the nav bar then ?

Well,  that’s one of the things I’ve been working on in my own time for the last month or so :)

They’re personal projects I’ve put together on the iPhone. One of them is to a game, and one of them is to a utility I’ve created with the help of a wonderful programmer and friend Gabriel Salmi  (who’s also available for freelance programming).    As of the time of writing this blog entry, they’re still in submission with Apple, but will hopefully go “live” anytime now so that I can link them through properly  :)     All pretty exciting stuff !
